Drumming
Workshops
African Rhythm is easy to
learn and often encourages people who thought
of them selves as “unmusical” to
realise that we all are musical.
Jozina finds African drumming a wonderful tool
to bring people together from different ages
and walks of life playing and sharing music
together as an orchestra.

Objectives
I open each workshop welcoming ourselves to the
place we are in, singing a song of welcome to
all and at the end of each workshop I again thank
all, the spirit of the drum and honour the place
we are in. Then I open the circle till we meet
again.
In my workshops people are invited to tune in
to the spirit of African drumming and having fun
with rhythm and song. We do rhythm games and I
like to make openings
where people can get to know one another, create
community!
Outcomes
People feel welcome. This creates a sprit of Community
and respect. People and feeling valued and at
ease, which helps them to relax and learn the
new rhythms and techniques. People get to know
one another and make friends. They exchange information
and learn from the other people in the group about
other lifestyles, healing practises, recreational
activities.
